Waimarino Adventure Park

Bring your family, swimsuits, barbecue supplies or picnic and make a day of it with one of our two adventure park pass options, or if you’re short on time, come down and rent a kayak by the hour.

For the best value for money and the most time for having fun we recommend arriving as early as you’re able, and leaving as late as possible; we open at 10am and close at 6pm.
Our adventure park pass system designed so once you have purchased a pass for the park you won’t need any more money for the rest of the day. You can enjoy, get wet, relax and most importantly have fun, without needing to reach for your wallet.
Enter the park knowing that the day is yours to enjoy with our SUPREME PASS. The Blob, The UFO, rock climbing and unlimited kayak hire; the fun is just starting. Slide down NZ’s only kayak slide. Beach volleyball is a hit while others enjoy the challenge on Waimarino’s new low ropes course. Battle the champ on our Gladiators pole, or simply let the palm trees shelter you as you soak up the warm pool while a BBQ cooks nearby. ‘Waimarino – family fun in the sun’

Glow-worm Kayak Tour

“Magical, enchanting, surreal, amazing!”

If any of the above words described the activity you are looking for the Glow-worm Kayak Tour is for you.
This is a truly unique experience; while you can see glow-worms elsewhere in New Zealand, and you can paddle a sea kayak in many places around the world, this is the only place when the two combine for a magical evening. The tour is great fun with great refreshments, beautiful scenery, fantastic bird life and awesome glow-worms. Paddle to the mysterious glow-worm canyon, our tour departs once a day before sunset. Upon arrival, the canyon is completely dark, as required to see the glow worms to the best effect.

Enjoy wine from the award-winning local winery, delicate New Zealand cheeses and refreshments on the edge of Lake McLaren. Our guides will prepare and brief you on how to kayak effectively before launching you on to picturesque Lake McLaren – Tauranga, at twilight to paddle to the mysterious glow-worm canyon.

Scenic Lake Rotoiti, Glow Worm & Thermal Hot Pool Kayak Tour

Enjoy a scenic sea-kayak tour past the cascading native bush including the Pohutukawa, NZ’s native Christmas tree. View classic kiwi holiday homes dotted among the cliffs and coves. Explore the quiet lake’s edge with abundant bird life before parting the bush to enter the glow-worm cave. Relax in the natural thermal hot pools as you reflect on the experience. Glide over the calm waters with NZ’s only scenic lake and glow-worm cave kayak tour. Enjoy the myths and legends of the Māori people linked to Lake Rotoiti.

Waverly on Wairoa Conference and Function Venue

The room opens out to a large private deck area. This room is ideally suited for conferences, seminars, product displays and group functions. This room holds up to 200 people depending on the seating plan.

Comments for Scenic Lake Rotoiti

“Not to be missed!”
It was simply amazing – perfect weather, added to the breathtaking scenery and peacefulness while kayaking across the lake. The Glow worm cave and (especially) the thermal pools were extremely enjoyable activities. Highly recommend to everyone; I will be doing this again!

Comments on Glow Worm Tour – Tauranga

What a magical time we had on our recent kayak tour into the glow-worm canyon. We felt it was going to be amazing but just floating in the silence and the dark, looking at those little spots of light, was something out of this world!

You will be remembered for giving us one of the highlights of our first time in New Zealand.

“Spectacular”

The glow-worm kayak tour is NZ best kept secret. Imagine this, a calm moonlit night beside a tranquil lake. Mulled wine and ample nibbles served with a friendly smile. Easy kayaking with warm gear supplied. The trip was stunning, the glow worms the best I’ve seen. The most relaxing yet outstanding trip I’ve been on. Got to go again.
